Canada PR in BC – Top 3 programs

The top 3 PR programs in BC. What’s written in the fine print of the BC PNP guides that you may have missed. These 3 programs will make your life much easier for immigration to Canada, 2 of which are direct PR streams. Today we’re revealing the insights of these amazing 3 programs designed for the beautiful province of British Columbia.

These are the top 3 programs for PR using the BC PNP. 2 out of these 3 programs do not have mandatory language requirements, and one has only a CLB 4 requirement:

A: The BC PNP International Post Graduate Stream.

B: The BC PNP SI EE for priority occupations.

C: The BC PNP Regional Pilot Program.

If you’re planning to immigrate to Canada through the BC PNP and you’re looking for some guidance and support, you’re at the right place! We are licensed and we have successfully supported applicants from more than 47 nationalities to apply for Canadian immigration through Studies, Working, Sponsorship, and Business. BC PNP International Post Graduate Stream

Successfully graduating from a Masters or PhD level studies (except for medical doctors) from one of the 14 post-secondary institutions which include over 247 graduate level courses listed as approved programs can allow you to become eligible for direct PR nomination by the BC PNP. They are all within the STEM categories such as engineering, IT, biology, math, physics, nursing, forestry, and many more related programs. You study, graduate, and apply for your nomination through the BC PNP to obtain your PR. This is why we love this program and why it’s so different from the other province’s programs. It’s not #1 on our list but it really has some good advantages for applicants in this category.

Advantages:

* Direct PR after graduation from your master’s degree or candidacy for PhD.

* No points (it is exempt from the BC PNP draws and points matrix).

* No job offer required (you only graduate to meet the requirements of the program).

* No IELTS required at time of application to the PNP for PR nomination.

* Has Express Entry option for faster processing times or regular PNP non-Express Entry if you do not want to submit a language score and other documents for Express Entry.

Disadvantages:

* Only specific graduate level programs at designated post-secondary institutions are eligible – and are all in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics). So unlike Ontario where you can study any Masters or PhD field such as Business Admin or anything else, BC PNP limits this program to STEM fields only.

* 4-5 month processing of your Provincial nomination certificate (PNP) until you can apply for your PR and bridging work permit after you graduate.

BC PNP Skilled Immigration Stream

It is for skilled and semi-skilled workers who have an offer of employment from a local BC company which has been in business for at least 2 years and has 5 equivalent full time Canadian staff inside Vancouver or 3 outside of the Vancouver Greater Metropolitan area. It is a direct PR and work permit program offering the overseas skilled immigrant the ability to apply from overseas with the offer of employment. The PNP office has a list of high demand occupations which it prioritizes such as:

* 35 tech & media related occupations.

* 39 healthcare occupations.

* In addition to early childhood educators and assistants in this field, 2 occupations in veterinarians and animal health related fields.

Advantages:

* It is a direct PR program with a work permit based on an offer of employment and can be applied both from inside and outside Canada.

* Language ability is not mandatory as long as the applicant can prove they can complete the duties in the occupation. This is one of the unique features of this program which many other PNP skilled immigration programs don’t have.

* If you choose to provide a language score and are eligible for Express Entry, this means you can apply for the Express Entry BC PNP option which would allow you to obtain your PR within a few months after receiving the provincial nomination certificate.

* There is a PNP draw for this program every month, making it one of the most active PNP’s, unlike the Ontario PNP.

* The high demand occupations have a lower threshold for the points draw allowing them to be invited more often and are also fast-tracked by the PNP office for the final PR nomination certificate. The healthcare and low skilled occupations have the lowest points threshold for the draws. The latest draw this month was minimum 100 for the regular Skilled Immigration and 60 points for healthcare and Early Childhood Educator and assistant occupations.

Disadvantages:

* If you are not on the high demand occupations in tech, media or health, then it is very difficult to claim enough points to be invited by the province, unless you are working for the employer already inside Canada on a work permit (such as an LMIA work permit or post-graduate work permit or spousal open work permit).

* It’s a points based skilled immigration stream, meaning you need to have enough points for your profile and job offer before you can be invited for the PR and work permit.

* There are strict eligibility criteria for the employers who can nominate as we described earlier (above in the summary of this program)

The BC PNP Regional Pilot Program

All of you should know already that this is one of our favorite PNP Entrepreneur programs for business owners and applicants with senior management experience ready to invest and settle in the rural parts of BC and obtain their permanent residencies after running their business for a minimum of 12 months inside the participating community.

There are 28 rural communities participating in this regional pilot program for entrepreneurs across various parts in BC such as Vancouver Island, northern part of BC, the Kootenay and other BC inland communities. It has one of the lowest eligibility criteria of ANY PNP Entrepreneur program across Canada.

You complete an exploratory trip to the community, receive an endorsement letter which our office can help with, apply through the BC PNP portal for your Expression of Interest, be invited, conduct the in-person interview, and then apply for your work permit to run the business and be nominated after you submit your final report to the PNP office after 12 months of consecutively running this business inside the community.

Do you want to plan your future in Canada? We could help you get your PR! Reach out and get a FREE email assessment with one of our licensed immigration consultants, who will assess your profile against +75 immigration programs across Canada, click here.

Advantages:

* It has the lowest investment and net worth criteria of any entrepreneur program across Canada, at minimum CAD $100,000 investment and CAD$ 300,000 net worth.

* It has one of the lowest language requirements of any program for PNP entrepreneur programs, at CLB 4 in English or French.

* You only need to run the business for a minimum of 12 months inside the community, which is 6 months less than the BC PNP base program for entrepreneurs who set up in Vancouver or other major urban areas in the province.

* It has one of the highest approval rates at over 90% compared to the BC Entrepreneur base program (this is post-interview).

Disadvantages:

* It’s not a direct PR program, but no PNP Entrepreneur program is right now in Canada.

* The trickiest part of this whole program is receiving the letter of endorsement or support from the participating community. This is difficult for somebody like you who is overseas, but easy for us since we’re inside Canada and already have ties with specific communities to help you during this process.

* Net worth audit is required, but again all PNP Entrepreneur programs have this requirement.

* You cannot apply for this program unless you visit and complete an exploratory trip to the specific rural community and attend an in-person interview at the BC PNP office which is located on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver.
