Detailed guidelines on travel restrictions to Canada

The COVID 19 pandemic has hit the world hard and has made every country experience a lockdown. But now gradually things are returning to normal phase and countries have started lifting up the lockdown and allow people to move from one place to another. As of now from September 7, 2021, Canada has allowed foreign nationals to travel to Canada for any kind of reason. Even for the discretionary purpose, the visitors are allowed but they must be fully vaccinated. To be precise, all travelers are required to have a full dosage of the COVID 19 vaccine which is accepted by the government of Canada plus the individual should be asymptomatic when arriving in Canada. Immigration Consultants in Canada can further guide if there are issues in the application process.

Not just this, there is a great probability that the candidates who are fully vaccinated can be exempted from the quarantine period and the Day-8 testing requirements. The vaccines which are accepted by the Canadian government are Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD, and Janssen/Johnson & Johnson. Moreover, travelers should have received their last dose at least 14 days before while they plan to enter Canada.

Further travelers are required to use ArriveCAN to submit information about their vaccination status and its proof within a time frame of 72 hours before they enter Canada. Irrespective of the vaccination status, all travelers are required to get a pre-entry test result requirement such as the proof of the COVID 19 molecular test being conducted and its reports. Not just this, the travelers should have a back plan which states about their arrangement in regards to 14 days quarantine period if asked. The plan is to be present through ArriveCAN and people might have to go for it if they do not meet the criteria for quarantine exemptions.

Further details:

Foreign nationals, who are unable to meet the fully vaccinated traveler exemption and whose travel is flexible, that is not an urgent one, so they won't be allowed to enter the country. However, if the individual is coming for a non-discretionary purpose such as the candidate is an international student or temporary foreign worker or is there to meet immediate family members in case of emergency then the entry is possible.

However talking about the flights, from Morocco the flights have been suspended until 29 September 2021 and from India, the flights are suspended till 21 September 2021.

Until there is a specific notice issued, the international flights are only allowed at the nine international airports such as Vancouver International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Calgary International Airport, Edmonton International Airport, Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport,  Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport,  Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport
and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

So till now, the practice of the Canadian government is going as per these conditions. However, if you plan to visit Canada, you should get in touch with an Immigration Lawyer who would be a better guide for the process.
