Canadian Business Immigration is not fast

Fact: Canadian business immigration is not fast. It’s not as ‘passive’ and easy as the Golden Visa in Spain or UK investor visa, or the US EB5 immigration program. Canadian business immigration is very hands-on. But if you’re one of those people that likes to plan, prepare, and invest in your future, then there are options for you.

There are many Canadian business immigration programs that could be a great alternative for those entrepreneurs, self-employed or business persons who have the skills and funds and are genuinely interested in coming to Canada to expand or set up a business.

Canadian business immigration is not for everyone. You may have the money but not the right skills and profile as per the minimum criteria of the available programs. Or you could have the skills and profile but not enough money such as net worth and liquid funds available for investment.

At INGWE, we are experts in Business Immigration. If you’re interested in immigrating with your family through business, you’re at the right place. Get a FREE email assessment with us, and we will support you throughout the process. Fill out our form, click here.

Canadian Federal Business Programs

The Canadian Federal business immigration programs include both direct PR programs such as:

A: Startup Visa Program.

B: Federal Self-Employed Programs for professions in art/culture and sports.

Although the Federal economic and business immigration programs have very low minimum criteria to qualify, the success and approval rates are very low.

The Canadian Federal business immigration programs also include temporary work permits which can be convertible to PR but only for strong profiles. These programs include:

A: LMIA exempt entrepreneur & self-employed work permits such as the C10, C11, and C12 programs.

B: Free-Trade Agreement LMIA exempt work permits for investors, business persons and professionals.

These programs may be easier to apply for, and much faster, but don’t lead to direct PR, and have stricter criteria when you want to combine with other skilled immigration programs to be convertible to PR.

If you are interested in applying for immigration to Canada through the Canada Investment Visa, look no further, that’s our specialty here at INGWE Canada. Canadian Provincial Business Programs

The provincial business immigration programs include:

A: The Entrepreneur nominee program (variations include the Regional and Rural programs, and the Success Initiatives).

B: The Startup Visa nominee program

C: The International Graduate Entrepreneur program

D: Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP)

These programs have the strictest or highest eligibility criteria – except maybe the Quebec Investor program which only cares about your net worth and source of funds. However, these programs are all PR programs that do not require any additional steps before being nominated for PR. They begin with entrepreneur work permits and lead to direct PR after implementing and running your business inside Canada.

Canada PR through investment

None of these business immigration programs in Canada will take less than 2.5 years for a Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). That’s a fact. However, having said that, for qualified applicants, there are some immigration hacks that allow you to combine skilled immigration and business immigration streams to create ‘fast-track’ programs to convert you to PR in half this time.

However, remember the weaker your profile, the less likely it is that you would qualify for any of these options. Business Canadian immigration is a balance between how much time you want to spend on the business in Canada and how much money you can & want to invest.

It's that simple – or isn’t it?

Canadian business immigration can be a complex process but it offers many advantages, which is why it is important to learn how to navigate it. Remember, the Canadian passport is one of the most powerful passports in the world which is attainable in the shortest period compared to all the G7 countries. This statement we just made is based on the combination of the investment amount, the time it takes to become eligible for citizenship, and how many countries you can travel visa-free with a Canadian passport. When you place these 3 factors next to each other – the winner is Canada.
