St. Kitts & Nevis is an island country in the West Indies. Its citizenship investment program has been established since the 1980s, as one of the earliest. This program allows direct citizenship/passport for investors and their families. The passport holders for this country can travel visa-free to more than 158 countries, including all EU countries, Hong Kong, and the UK. Another highlight is that no income tax will be applied on worldwide income.
Investment requirements
There are two main categories to obtain citizenship in Saint Kitts & Nevis; either through contribution or through real estate investment.
Contribution options:
- Single applicant: contribution of US$ 150,000 to Saint Kitts & Nevis government (Sustainable Growth Fund);
- Main applicant with spouse and up to two (2) dependants: contribution of US$ 195,000 to Saint Kitts & Nevis government (Sustainable Growth Fund).
A contribution of US$ 10,000 per additional dependent (under the age of 18) to the above-listed figures. For financially dependent children between the ages of 18-30 and who are single, an additional contribution of US$ 40,000 is required. Financially dependent parents (age 55+) can also be included in the application.
Real Estate Investment Options:
- Minimum real estate investment of US$ 200,000 - resalable after 7 years (in addition to the applicant’s fees based on family size).;
- Minimum real estate investment of US$ 400,000 - resalable after 5 years (in addition to the applicant’s fees based on family size).
As part of the new regulations, two investors may jointly purchase a property for 7 years, and invest a minimum of US$ 200,000 each (for a total investment of min US$400,000 in the property).
Specific real estate projects are approved by St. Kitts & Nevis government for this citizenship investment program.
Residency requirements
No residency is required at any time before or after citizenship is granted by Saint Kitts & Nevis.
